GRM to present at the NAFEMS UK Conference, 15th June 2016

Marine Favre-Decloux will be presenting at the NAFEMS UK Conference in Telford on the 15th June 2016. Marine’s presentation will discuss the practical application of optimisation and advanced CAE techniques to rail seat design.

Abstract

To meet various safety and durability targets GRM Consulting have successfully used Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and optimisation tools to design three generations of train seats. Physical dynamic injury and integrity tests have confirmed the performance prediction and helped to improve FE models and their correlation to test. A close working environment between analysts and designers lead to significant weight savings whilst maintaining all seat performance and safety requirements.
