The Robot Bike Company is a team of highly skilled engineers, designers and mountain bike enthusiasts, who have produced an industry leading, high performance bike.  Lead Product Designer, Rob Gow, delivered an excellent presentation at OED2018, detailing both the inspiration and technical precision that created the bike. The RBC team identified that the fundamental characteristic of their bespoke mountain bike had to be an optimised fit, between rider and machine.

Speaker Biography


Rob took his first graduate job in New Product Development at Dyson, before taking a role in New Zealand for 3 years. Design Consulting on a variety of projects, he developed many exciting products, including a Hazmat Anthrax Detector. While working for Omlet, he designed their award winning contemporary beehive, developed for domestic use - the BeeHaus. Then moving into a Principal Designer role for 5 years with Zodiac Seats UK, Rob developed electro-mechanical components for luxury aircraft interiors, before leaving to pioneer the R130.
