Satoshi Ishiguro – Innovations In Personal Mobility

OED2018 is now just around the corner. To prepare you for the presentations at hand, we’d like to introduce another of our speakers – Satoshi Ishiguro.

With an impressive technical history, Ishiguro graduated from Nagoya University with a Masters degree in electromechanical engineering before embarking on a ten-year career with the Toyota Motor Corporation. He now works as Concept Engineering Director of Japan Creative Enterprise and runs his own design consultation company, 14Lab.

During his time with Toyota, Satoshi introduced TNGA (Toyota New Global Architecture), an innovative platform strategy which helped the corporation to massively improve performance on a variety of models while also reducing production costs.

He also worked directly on several vehicle designs – from the low-cost Etios through to the luxury Lexus LS.
In his work with HVD and 14Lab, Satoshi is leading a revolution in personal mobility. His ground-breaking work on personal vehicle design is bringing about a whole new school of thought within the Japanese engineering industry.

In his spare time, Satoshi is a keen Star Wars fan and enjoys cooking, singing, and tennis. At OED2018, Satoshi – along with Adam Hargreaves – will present his experiences of working with HVD and GRM to deliver his creative engineering vision.
